finally got my first wild camp done, happy days! pitched around the base of crib goch and up nice and early to attack the ridge about 4.30am unfortunately the cloud and visibility was horrendous so we got zero views lol still cracked on with the climb and had a fantastic day.

Good work, Chris! As much as I hate fog I have to say that Crib Goch is probably the best mountain to be up without a view as it still looks badass, staring down into the misty abyss. Also I like your traditonally-shaped, old-school style tent :P

Thanks pal, in that mist up top was so eerie, it was amazing. I need to get back up there on a clear day. That maybe a solo trip though as the Mrs is in no rush to get back up there, bit spooked at times lol. Think that tent is about 25 years old lol, it's a Lichfield combat 1, still going strong.

Yeah, soloing it is recommended. Having the whole place to yourself is pretty cool and I like going along it without being a rush sometimes. I can walk along the whole thing in 15 minutes if I have to but last time I was up there (which was also in mist) I spent about an hour exploring it (I was actually looking for new places to wild camp up there, but I couldn't find any). I didn't see a single other person as well!
