Hi Folks
Just wanted to say hello but also ask a question.
Myself and two mates climbed Snowdon and also Garnedd Ugain for the giggles yesterday, ascended via the Miners track to stay out of the wind, on the way back down we followed the llechog ridge down to Llanberis before back up the Nant Peris Car park.
The question i have are there any scramble routes from the base of the Llanberis pass up to the llechog ridge? There looked some interesting if slightly sketchy routes.
Any help much appreciated!

Hi Andy, I don't think there are any official scrambling routes from the valley up to Garnedd Ugain but I bet you could find some if you're willing to risk things a little bit :P I do know that there are some steep routes from Nant Peris up to the railway line, if you want to avoid having to go all the way down to Llanberis and then walk all the way up the road to Nant Peris next time. But I've only done them twice, and both times I got lost (not seriously lost, just not on a path). There are lots of rock faces around that area so I'm sure there's some scrambling to be done. Just make sure you're not out there in the dark the first time you go scouting around there (it's SERIOUSLY steep in parts and you won't see a single other person, I'm sure).
