I am after one of those bottles where you can filter almost anything so it becomes safe to drink. i made the mistake of going on reviews so have no idea which one to get

what you guys using?

to be honest it will mostly be for Snowdon so i can drink the water in the lakes or puddles!

I've got this bottle, from WaterToGo (their website).

I've not used it a whole lot and I haven't used it for any really dirty water but apparently it's high quality. I obviously hope I'll never have to test it to its limits :P

It costs £25 which isn't cheap but hey, if you find yourself dehydrated and only a dodgy puddle or stream to drink from you won't be thinking about any costs (as it happens I was given mine as a gift, which was nice).

So yeah, I've drunk from lakes and streams with this bottle and I'm still alive! Didn't even get the shits!

Cheers Dave, it was you who give me the idea off your horse shoe run!

will take a look

Haha, yeah, that was one of the few times I've used it. Though I would have probably been perfectly fine drinking straight out the lake. Having a bottle like that is just peace of mind more than anything else. If I've got it in my backpack somewhere I at least know I've always got the option of safely drinking out of a stream if need be. Of course, it's not much use if there's no water sources available (i.e. everywhere on Snowdon above the lakes). So always pack enough water!!
