Hey! Im looking at doing my first wild camp up snowdon this year with a few friends. Just wondering if you can give me any advice on where to camp? Where to park? and what to take?

Id really appreciate any feedback :)

Cheers! Ben

Hi Ben!

I may have slept on the Snowdon Range a couple of times. Here's what I'd recommend...

Park at at this layby:
www.google.co.uk/map... ...x0!5m1!1e4

This is the layby and you can (kind of) see Crib Goch in the clouds up there.

It's free and it's a very short walk from the path that leads up towards Crib Goch, which is extremely quiet compared to Snowdon's main routes. I have yet to see someone else on them!

You follow the road (but on the other side of the wall so you won't get hit by a car) to that path up. You then follow it and do whatever you want to get up there. There's several different ways up.

As for camping, well the best place is probably in the valley below Crib Goch and Garnedd Ugain. It's out the way so you're very unlikely to see anyone else the whole time, and you've got the mountains right on your doorstep.

Other than that I'm not sure what other advice there is to give! Unless of course you have any questions? :)

On a side note, I LOVE Google's 3D Maps function.

No problem, mate! If you take any good pics out there or see anything cool then feel free to post them on these forums! And if you have the flexibility to choose when you go and there's a couple of days of clear weather coming up then yes, go for it!
