A Canadian Pacific train carrying grain derailed into the Fraser River near Yale, B.C. Tuesday morning.
The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) has confirmed the train was travelling on a CN Rail track south of Boston Bar when it struck a mudslide and derailed.
Nine cars in total came off the track and two cars slid into the Fraser River.
The TSB said there is no indication of a fuel leak and no reports of injuries.
CN Rail said crews and equipment are being brought in to remove the cars and complete the cleanup.
A photo from the scene shows a considerable amount of grain spilled onto the river bank.

Just wanted to give you a bit of feedback mate, keep up the good work
Dave
I hope you're all doing well. I'm currently planning a spring trip to Alberta. I'll be starting in Barrie, Ontario and was wondering if any of my fellow Canadian hoppers knew of any good locations to catch out in South/Central Ontario? I noticed that in BraveDave's video he hopped on in MacTier and rode westward for like 31 hours without any issues. Does anyone know of any other good spots, or is MacTier the way to go? Thanks!
Saw the biiiig fat freight hop vid you posted Dave and its super cool! I gotta try it at some point. Also stumbled on Snowdonia videos, which is funny cus im from North Wales. Dwin gallu siarad cymraeg dipin
off to read that fright hopping in the uk thread :)
Open source software comes to the rescue! openstreetmap.org has awesome maps of the entire world and is free of the restrictions of Googles closed maps. Even better, you can just edit something yourself if it is missing or wrong.
On Android two major apps use OpenStreetmap data and allows to download anything form a bit to the entire World to the phone for offline access.
OsmAnd is an open source project and can do a lot of stuff, even more when the addons. But it can be a bit complicated if you are using it for the first time.
Maps.me is not open source, but uses the free OpenStreetmap data and also allows for offline access.
do you guys just crash anywhere sheltered and reasonably level??
do you get any hassle off the farmers or are you quite high up out there way?? wouldnt be lighting a fire or anything but just want to stay on the right side of them :)
whats the essential kit???

For power, I already have a pretty good little fold out solar charger made by 'Link Solar'. They pump out the usual current but I'm afraid I'm still not impressed with solar chargers.
I noticed Dave used on during his 'Big Fat Freight Hop' adventure and I believe it was an Ankar. A friend of mine has one of these and he wasn't too impressed with the output either.
I feel that solar charging just isn't going to serve me too well so I went and bought a nice hand cranked charger with adjustable voltage. The unit is waterproof and works very well. Small too.
There are allot of these on the market but I wanted something powerful. This will output 3 amps if I need it.
I bought this on AliExpress but you can get them on ebay, Banggood, and probably a myriad of other websites. Just search on 30w Hand cranked generator.
I've put this up just as a suggestion to anybody interested. I think this is a great piece of kit and can even be used to charge a car battery if need be.
See the photo's. I hope this is of some use to someone.
I'm Andy and I like adventures, too!
More than a year or so ago I watched some guy freight hopping on YouTube. Fast forward to October 2018 and I discover some other guy climbing mountains. Then it clicked. These two guys are both the same guy! I discovered Brave Dave twice and I'm embarrassed how long it took me to make the connection. Since then I have watched every video on the channel and am now going through them for a second time. I'm not sad.
Considering a guided adventure...I sometimes need that little bit of a push (for instance I didn't jump between Adam and Eve as I'm pathetic and I now regret it). Thinking on it. Maybe if Dave does a 'disciple tour' for a group of like-minded followers? I know he only does 'friends and family', but aren't we all family, in a sense?
Dave, internet family?
Either way, see you in the hills. Hi-5 from BD is on my bucket list.
Andy
