Few pics from yesterday, brilliant day. Little slippy on the way up to Crib Goch and quite windy up the top.
Great day with an OK time of just over six and a half hours with some stunning views!
Didn't know until we got back someone sadly died on Saturday, the party of three turned around because of bad snow on the ridge. One fell on the decent of the initial climb.

Nice one, Chris! Where's the third pic taken from? The ice has all vanished!

And yeah, I just read about the death on Crib Goch. I'd be interested to know which part the guy slipped off and whether he fell down a long way or just slipped and hit his head. For obvious reasons the news never give much more info other than "Someone died".

Did you get any more pics of the Horseshoe? I'd like to see it covered in ice like that. I reckon that thin layer of ice is more dangerous than when it's covered in thick snow!

A lot of it had gone by the end. The pic with not much snow was at about 1:00pm after Lliwedd. The first pic shows the rock on the initial climb, dusting of snow with icy patches here and there.

If we'd known about the death the day before we'd probably have chosen another day.

that much snow?? crazy! we half did the snowdon horseshoe on wednesday 13th- cut out crib goch/garnedd ugain and just took the pyg track up snowdon and continued round the second half because of very poor visibility but I didn't realise it was that snowy up there! just as well we didn't try crib goch as none of us are winter trained at all

A wise decision to stick to the Pyg, Rees!

And great photos, Chris. Especially the third one!
