By coincidence I was reading the blog of the second guy, Korey, a few days ago. He wrote about crossing the US by train and I thought it sounded a pretty awesome thing to do. Maybe freight hop across it one way and then get a sleeper train back the other way. It's not even very expensive! I think it's a few hundred dollars. I've got to say though, Korey's voice is annoying. That vocal fry at the end of every single sentence he says is a bit grating.
Man, videos like this get me pumped up for doing it again.

Ya Wizehop has a couple good videos ive found, seems like an awesome guy, I like how he mentions about how he wants to share the freedom and not keep as secret as it has been in the past. However we dont want every wingnut trying to hop freights with no info on how to get started or safety....I guess thats why we have people like you and wizehop and others ha, and hopefully me soon enough here. I have alot of travel and adventure ideas coming up for this summer, east to west then gonna try and make it out to Tofino for a bit come September, then head back. That's just the tip of the ice berg on my thought train.
As for the traveling America by Amtrak thing, seems like an amazing deal! Travel for free and write for the blog in exchange, sign me up ha. I know the Canada Via Rail is very reasonably priced to go cross country, something for the bucket list, however freight and free comes first!
