Hi, I’ve never gone freight hopping before and I just wanted to know the basic supplies needed for a short term trip. Preferably for a 3 day trip which I will be planning over the next year. Any tips at all would be oblidged. Thanks.

Hi, I've never gone freight hopping myself aswell. After watching 'Big fat freight hop', made me think what would I need for a trip like that. I've gathered something I might find useful:

-bivvy bag ... for covering youself from weather. helps keeping you warm at night as well
-1 man tent ... these come in very tiny size and weight low as 1,2 kilograms (equals ~2,5 lbs). also you carry bivvy or tent, probably not both
-1 powerbank, kind of type which allows you to swap actual source of energy (18650 3.7V rechargeable batteries). you can carry bank plus couple dozen of these batteries. 1 battery equals ~2/3 smart phone battery charged from zero to 100%
-food ... dry food lowers carried burden. vegetable oils come in great selection, and whats best in oil it carries so much energy per weight. 9000 calories per liter (or per 2lbs). take spoonful every other hour. when you go low in energy, you still have that fat in your system, cause its slow energy. DON'T leave with only oil in your bag, you need sth else to eat ofc otherwise it'll be depression not fun.
- shoes, don't leave with only flipflops. I bet you'll be missing good shoes when you're running away from security ;D
- map

Thats it. I think I could do 24 hourish with these supplies. What ya'll think?

It's actually very simple. Just pack what you'd pack for a camping trip! And maybe a scanner if you have one.

Thanks both of you guys. I was making a list of things I needed based on these survival handbooks I had around, But i will definitely add those to the notes. By the way are there any specific types of scanners I should look into? Thanks again guys
