Join me as I attempt to cross Canada by riding freight trains. Since I uploaded Big Fat Freight Hop in November 2016 it has had a LOT of attention. It's over two hours long so I divided it into four parts (and also made a trailer).
I made this one minute trailer before I'd finished editing Big Fat Freight Hop to let people know what the footage looked like.
Let's go on an adventure! After landing in Montreal and receiving some useful kit from a guy I've never met before I head off onto the tracks, making my way over to Toronto.
Toronto proves to be a bit of a ball-ache to get out of but at least I meet some other cool people along the way.
From Winnipeg I get back onto the rails and make my way towards Calgary, running into a little bit of trouble in a yard somewhere near Regina.
The final chapter of my adventure! After hanging out with an old friend in Calgary I finally get to the Rockies where the gods smile down upon me with glorious blue skies and blazing sunshine. Awesome!
Fast forward to September 2017! Well it turns out that actions sometimes have consequences and having a video get millions of views can be a double-edged sword.
Remember the amazing escape I had from that yard in Part 3 of Big Fat Freight Hop? Yeah, well it turns out that the yard bull ended up seeing my video and had enough time on his hands to do some digging and put out an arrest warrant for me.
And how do I know this? Because I flew back to Canada to do another freight adventure (this time to the East coast) only to be stopped at St John airport by border security. BIGGEST. BUZZKILL. EVER!
On the plus side though, being indefinitely banned from a country is quite a cool anecdote to tell people.
