WHAT TO EXPECT
Calling all beginners who want to really immerse themselves in a mountain experience! If you've done a bit of hill walking but you're now looking to step up your game then this is the adventure for you!

I will lead you and up to three others on a two day/one night expedition during which you'll learn how to navigate, you'll practice scrambling skills and you'll wild camp out under the stars. And here's the best bit; I can provide you with the essential wild camping kit! This means that you don't need to spend hundreds of pounds on a wild camping tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and other items in order to give it a try.

Wild camping can be fantastic or it can be disastrous, depending on how you go about it. I will teach you the knowledge and skills for ensuring that any wild camps you do in the future are a success and that you have a minimal impact on the environment when you do it.

Starting around midday I will brief you on the kit you should have and how best to pack it before leading you into the mountains where we will practice navigation, try out some scrambling skills, and look for a suitable camping spot.

We will look at choosing the best pitch, how to set up tents, how to cook with a stove as well as the practicalities of staying dry in bad weather over multi-day trips.

After spending a night out on the mountain we will then walk back down to where we started, practicing more navigation along the way.
FITNESS AND EXPERIENCE
Wild camping is more strenuous than day hikes because you have to carry a tent and all of your sleeping kit, plus extra supplies. Therefore you should have at least some experience of carrying a decent sized pack over rough terrain before doing a wild camp.
